Qualifications

Tanya Carstairs is a sole founder of Lingua Services. She is a certified translator/interpreter with over 20 years of experience in translation/interpreting business in UK and Eastern Europe.

 

Tanya is a fully qualified member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, London. She holds MA in English and French, Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law, Guildford, UK, Diploma in Translation/Interpreting, SDL Trados TM certification, LCCIEB Marketing Certificate. 

Experience

Having graduated from the Minsk State Linguistic University, Tanya spent several years working as an English teacher in the Grodno Medical University in Belarus. 

 

From 1996 to 1998, she worked as a Russian technical secretary in a UK private leading language training company Multi Lingua. The experience gave her unparalleled in-depth understanding of integration and localisation of businesses with different linguistic and historic backgrounds. 

Following a number of research projects in Eastern European markets for commercial ventures, Tanya has been collaborating with architects bureaux, engineering companies and leading international service providers in the energy and processing industries in the RF, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyz Republic, Turkmenistan, China.  

After her graduation from the University of Law, Guildford UK, in 2012 Tanya has been assisting litigation teams of the leading law firms helping in the preparation of case materials in the high profile civil cases involving compilation of data, caseworks, witness statements, translation of case related documentation, legal and media research, attendance at court hearings and meetings related to case proceedings.  

Tanya also provides consecutive and simultaneous interpreting at conferences, financial road shows, presentations, trials, preparation of witness statements and affidavits, business meetings. Institutions where Tanya has provided interpreting include HP (Lords), FCO, MoJ, LCIA, Royal Courts of Justice, Quadrant Chambers, AELTC Wimbledon Tennis Championships.

As a pro-bono interest Tanya is involved in charitable work providing translation services for humanitarian non-profits. She regularly participates in charitable work in her local community in such areas as healthcare, environment and wildlife protection.
